About this panel
Scarring (cicatricial) alopecia is irreversible if untreated, but very treatable when caught early. Diagnosis requires a small scalp punch biopsy reviewed by a histopathologist. The biopsy is performed by our consultant clinician at the Harley Street clinic, and the histology report is returned within 7 days. Supporting bloodwork can be added at clinician discretion if indicated. Pricing starts from £349; the price may vary if additional complexity is identified (for example, multiple biopsy sites or additional histopathology stains).
Who this panel is for
- You have visible scalp redness, scaling, or scarring
- A previous clinician has flagged a suspected scarring alopecia
- You're losing hair in patches with skin changes underneath
