About this panel
When the foundation nutritional panel does not explain the picture, hormonal factors are a common next step to investigate. This advanced panel adds DHT and the wider androgen panel, oestradiol, zinc and ESR to the foundation markers, giving a fuller view for patients with persistent or pattern-suspected hair loss.

How long do Advanced Hair & Hormone Check results take?
Most results within 4 hours of your appointment. DHT, oestradiol and the rest of the androgen panel returned within 24 hours. SHBG can take up to 48 hours. All results are reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor before being released to your secure patient portal.
Do I need to fast for the Advanced Hair & Hormone Check?
No, fasting is not required for the Advanced Hair & Hormone Check. You can eat and drink normally before your appointment. Not required. Important: if you take B12, folate, B-complex or multivitamin supplements, hold them for 24 to 72 hours before testing (and ideally several weeks for B12 specifically). Recent supplementation can mask a real deficiency by normalising the serum reading.
