Women's health testing
Private blood tests for women in London
Whether you are investigating perimenopause, planning HRT, exploring PMOS / PCOS, or trying to understand persistent symptoms with normal NHS bloods, we design panels around your specific question. Clinician-led, NICE-aligned, reviewed by GMC-registered doctors at 134 Harley Street.
Quick answer
Private blood tests for women at WMG Health cover the most common female-health questions: perimenopause and menopause workup, HRT baseline, PMOS (PCOS), fertility and pre-conception, female pattern hair loss, persistent fatigue with normal NHS bloods, and general wellness screening. Panels are tailored around your case and reviewed by GMC-registered doctors before booking. NICE NG23 and BMS aligned. One blood draw at 134 Harley Street.

Perimenopause investigation
Symptoms suggestive of perimenopause (cycle changes, hot flushes, sleep disturbance, mood changes, fatigue) in your 40s or earlier. Comprehensive panel covering hormones, thyroid and the nutritional context.
From £425
Explore →Menopause and HRT baseline
Considering HRT or wanting a defensible clinical baseline before starting. Covers the lipids, liver function and hormonal markers a prescribing clinician will want.
From £375
Explore →PMOS (PCOS) workup
Irregular cycles, hirsutism, acne, scalp thinning, or weight changes. Designed around NICE CKS PMOS / PCOS diagnostic context with androgen profile and insulin resistance markers.
From £395
Explore →Female pattern hair loss
Thinning at the parting, increased shedding, or persistent diffuse hair loss. Ferritin, thyroid, vitamin D, and the hormonal markers that drive female pattern hair loss.
From £249
Explore →Fertility and pre-conception
Pre-conception bloods covering AMH (where available), TSH, ferritin, vitamin D, folate and immunity status (rubella, varicella). Designed around NHS pre-conception advice.
From £295
Explore →Thyroid investigation
TSH, Free T4, Free T3 and TPO antibodies. Thyroid dysfunction commonly mimics perimenopause (fatigue, weight changes, hair shedding, mood) and is a frequent missed diagnosis when only basic NHS TSH is tested. NICE CKS aligned.
From £180
Explore →General female wellness
A comprehensive female-focused screening panel for women who want a defensible baseline without a specific concern. Covers hormones, thyroid, iron, vitamin D, B12, lipids and metabolic markers.
From £329

How we are different
- Patient-led, clinician-reviewed. Off-the-shelf online panels are built for the average case. You tell us what you want investigated, or describe your concern; a GMC-registered doctor sense-checks and confirms the panel before any booking.
- NICE NG23 and BMS aligned. We follow current UK menopause guidance honestly. We say when NICE advises against routine FSH testing in over-45s, and when a focused panel is genuinely the right answer.
- Integrated HRT pathway. If your results support HRT, our sister service WMG Meds offers a transdermal HRT pathway with our prescribing clinicians. No fragmented care.
- Written report against your symptoms. Every result is reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor and interpreted against your situation, not just a generic reference range.
- Harley Street, single blood draw. Everything in one appointment at 134 Harley Street, London.
FAQs
What blood tests do women typically get done privately?
The most-requested private blood tests for women in the UK are the female hormone panel (FSH, LH, oestradiol, SHBG, testosterone), full thyroid function with antibodies, vitamin D and B12, ferritin and iron studies, and metabolic markers (HbA1c, lipids, fasting insulin). The right combination depends on the specific question being asked, which is why our custom panel route is the most common booking we receive.
How are private female hormone panels different from the NHS?
NHS panels typically cover TSH alone for thyroid and a more limited set of female hormones, often only when there is a specific clinical question. Private panels can add free T4, free T3, thyroid antibodies, the full sex hormone profile, calculated free testosterone via SHBG, plus the wider context (ferritin, vitamin D, B12) in one draw. The results come with a written clinical interpretation rather than just numbers against a generic reference range.
Which cycle day should I be tested on?
For cycling women, days 2 to 5 of the cycle (counting day 1 as the first day of bleeding) give the cleanest baseline for FSH, LH and oestradiol. If you are not cycling, timing is less critical. We will discuss timing when designing your panel.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. WMG Health is direct-access. You can request a panel and book directly with us.
What if my NHS results came back "normal"?
A common reason for booking with us. NHS reference ranges are wide and many women feel symptomatic while sitting inside them. Our clinicians review results against your symptoms, age and context, not just against generic population ranges. We also test markers the NHS may not have included (e.g. full thyroid antibodies, free testosterone, SHBG).
